If you want your BlackBerry to work as it should you will need to switch to the new SERO Plan which is $59.99, it adds the BlackBerry Internet, Sprint Navigation, and Sprint Music. The other option is to connect your BlackBerry to your computer and install the Opera web browser and Gmail. Data works with your current SERO plan, just not for the integrated features on your BlackBerry like the native email inbox and built-in web browser.

The new SERO plans are called Everything Plus

I just bought blackberry 8830 and have Sprint Sero plan but my blackberry does not work with it. I called Sprint and they told me it would not work since I have Sprint Sero Plan. Do you know how do I add blackberry plan to my Sero plan?

P.S. If you’re only finding the .jad installation files, try using google to get the .alx files: search for “.alx instango”, for instance.

I was able to install the .alx files through the Desktop Manager for: Opera, Google Maps, and Instango (however, Yahoo doesn’t work within Instango yet).

Good luck to everyone! I am so glad to circumvent that ridiculous $30 “Blackberry services” charge that Sprint tried to tell me I needed!

Does the GPS on the Blackberry work on the SERO data plan? If not, are we able to download any applications that have GPS capability?

1. It IS possible to have the old Sero voice and unlimited data plan WITHOUT having the Blackberry plan and still have it work.
2. This means however many minutes for voice you signed up for, unlimited text/data/picmail/etc for $30 a month.
3. The easiest way to do it would probably be the wipe method.

I have this on my blackberry 8830 right now, and I just did it YESTERDAY. So I can verify, with all certainty, that it is still possible.

My data consumption went up from 80 to 590 in a day.

Unfortunately you have to switch to the voice only sero plan in order to use a BlackBerry with all of its features. Then you have to pay the additional fee for BlackBerry Internet Service. If you are serious about using a BlackBerry it might be worth considering switching to the newer SERO plans, called the Everything Plus Referral Offer.

It is 79.99 for the 1000 minute plan (down from 1250), but it includes all of the same features as your current SERO plan. The big bonus is that it also includes support for BlackBerry Internet Service, unlimited GPS (Sprint GPS), unlimited Sprint TV, unlimited Sprint Music and the plan even works on the Palm Pre and Samsung Instinct.

The bottom line is that the old SERO plans work best for Windows Mobile devices. If you want to be able to use Blackberry devices as well as the exclusive phones to Sprint you’ll need to switch over to the Everything Plus Offer.

i have the Sero 1250 plan and i recently bought the BB Curve 8330. I want to KEEP my plan and add the BB data plan but they are telling me that i cant because my Sero plan already has data package. The problem is the data package that is a part of the Sero does not work with the BB. If i do the Voice only (which i do NOT want ot do) then wont i lose all of my unlimited texting and picture msging? All i want to do is KEEP my sero plan and addthe BB Data. Please tell me what i can do to make that work.. if there is a special code or something…
