The SDK (Software Developer Key) which will allow 3rd party iPhone applications to gain authentication officially has reportedly been leaked. This key was listed on Austin Heep’s website and the news spread fast, very fast. Many iPhone owners have been patiently waiting for some 3rd party love on their shinny new iPhones since June and the promise was made that this quarter we would see these official 3rd party programs available (to buy most likely). Webapps are nice and it is great to be able to add some productivity to the iPhone, but you have a major problem when AT&T iPhone subscribers are resorting to jailbreaking their iPhone.

Well there it is, but can we actually do anything with this? well it is clearly in HEX format so we can convert it back into Binary and have some lovely 1’s and 0’s:

010100000000111000000000000000
Now really, the important piece of this information is that there might actually be someone out there that can utilize this information to provide a simply way of authenticating third party applications without the god given consent of Apple. The SDK could be the holy grail for both hacked iPhones and those of you who signed your life over to the 2 year commitment with AT&T.
More news to come. In the meantime enjoy this hex to dec converter
