Nokia N95 Ngage

If you remember the short lived Nokia Ngage then you might remember that an update to the original product has been in the works (rumored) for quite some time now.  Details have been emerging rapidly about the potential of a follow up device as well as the new gaming platform with the release of the 8GB Nokia N81 handset.  Nokia has invited N81 owners to take part in the Ngage first access experience with the Ngage application and 3 sample games included.  Unfortunately not everyone went out and bought the N81 and other Nokia handsets such as the N95 have much more popularity in these neck of the woods.

So what does someone looking to get in on the Ngage experience do when they have a N series device other than the N81? The answer is download a copy of SISXplorer and unpack the SISX installation file from the Nokia website.  Since we were curious about the Ngage platform as well and we had a Nokia N95-3 to test we went for it.  First installing the SIXplorer software, unpacking the files and copying them over to our 1GB MicroSD card to install on the N95-3.  You can download the SISXplorer software here

The installation was a success and the N95-3 has been verified to work with this release of the Ngage application so if you have been waiting to experience some fantastic gaming on your N series device the time is now.  You can also checkout the Symbian Guru for some additional details on his installation and a direct link to an edited sisx installation file (we had no luck downloading the installation file off the free hosting website so we went the hands on method with SISXplorer).
