AT&T Loves Some 700Mhz: FCC Approves Sale

by Nick Marshall

Hot from the AT&T News Room, the FCC has gone ahead to approve the sale of a slice of the 700Mhz spectrum. Now before we get ahold of ourselves lets not confuse the current auction bidding going on with this transaction. Yes it is part of the same 700Mhz spectrum, but it is not part of the current bidding getting all the media attention.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved AT&T’s acquisition of spectrum licenses from Aloha Partners, L.P., a Delaware limited partnership. The move is undoubtedly going to gain some power behind AT&T’s in the 700Mhz spectrum and good news at the AT&T camp, but this is simply the first of many steps for the carrier.
