iPhone Upgrades: 16GB iPhone, 3G?

article Nick Marshall

If you are waiting for the 3G iPhone, sorry not this time. But, if you have been praying for the iPhone to match the current Touch capacities you will be very estatic about the new 16GB iPhone. Apple has just listed the availability of a new and improved larger capacity iPhone now topping off at 16GB which matches (formerly matched, the Touch has just been upgraded to a 32GB capacity) the largest sized Apple Touch. The new 16GB Apple iPhone will set you back a hefty $499 and as always there is no carrier subsidizing so deal hunters need not apply. On the brighter side at least you are still getting a larger capacity iPhone at a lower price than the 8GB iPhone sold on iDay back in June. No details on the website are listed as far as dimensions or increased weight are concerned, but clearly some weight difference can be expected for all that extra capacity. The question still remains when will we get the official announcement on the 3G iPhone so we can quit hunting for WiFi hotspots when EDGE just won’t cut it?
