Microsoft must have been listening to my post about HD DVD and Blu-ray yesterday when I called out Microsoft on giving a price cut on their HD DVD add-on drives to help spark some fuel in the fire of this high definition format war. The price cut is now official and the HD DVD add-on drive for the Xbox 360 has just dropped down to the $129 price point. Although I was hoping that the drive would drop to the sub $100 level I still appreciate the discount, but I still hold strong in my opinion that the drive needs to become an impulse buy price so that Xbox 360 gamers will go ahead and skip the purchase of their next Xbox 360 game and instead sign up for a Netflix account and grab the Xbox 360 HD DVD add-on drive. In the meantime maybe the guys over at slickdeals.net can provide some crafty price adjustments in order to bring this drive down into my ideal price range without waiting for the next price drop issued by Microsoft.
