Apple’s newest addition to the Safari Web browser has been privately tested this week according to AppleInsider. There are several key upgrades in Safari 3.1; most notably the CSS Transforms and CSS Animations will join web downloadable fonts in allowing Safari 3.1 and iPhone users to render web pages and web apps with enhanced design messages and real-time visual effects. This is a very impressive feature in the world of web since the biggest limiting factor in font web design has always been the limitation of pre-installed fonts on the users machine. Being able to use the font of your choice as a web designer is a huge bonus and it is no surprise that Apple would lead this race since their dominance in design and graphics remains strong.
