sony ericsson XPERIA
Today was an exciting day for Sony Ericsson and more importantly anyone who ever thought about buying a Sony Ericsson phone, but went for the run of the mill Windows Mobile Pocket PC instead. Not only was the introduction of the Sony XPERIA powered by Windows Mobile Professional a landmark in its own right, but the news that the device was manufactured by HTC (makers of the AT&T Tilt, Sprint Mogul, Sprint Touch, AT&T 8525, etc…). Finally we see that HTC has the power to deliver a cutting edge handset design beyond the HTC Touch and packing that with some impressive specifications just adds icing to the cake. Go ahead and feast your eyes on some sexy pictures compliments of GSM Arena.

In case you forgot the details on what exactly the Sony Ericsson XPERIA has to offer the mobile community let’s do a little refresher course. Let’s start with the screen which packs an impressive VGA resolution (800×600) touchscreen with metal finish boarders. Beyond the touchscreen is the full QWERTY keyboard, 4-way key and optical joystick navigation to provide a versatile choice of navigation methods. Data is covered and equipped with the highest data transfer rate (HSDPA/HSUPA) and WiFi™ support and even GPS is covered by means of aGPS so our mapping needs are satisfied. The design combined with the touch panel interface is simply a beautiful blend of what looks like the most user friendly implementation of Windows Mobile we have ever seen. And finally the most important piece of information that everyone wants to know; select markets will receive units in the second half of 2008.
