Verizon Samsung U940 FCC Approval: CDMA F700

article Nick Marshall

Verizon Samsung U940

Big Red has a beautiful piece of hardware landing on the nation’s most reliable network within the next few months; the Samsung U940 QWERTY EVDO packing beast.  In case the model number is not clicking, the Samsung U940 is actually the F700 for CDMA networks with the exception of the camera which is only 2MP instead of the 3MP found on the Samsung F700.  The juicy details begin with the 420×240 full touch screen display and the spacious QWERTY keyboard under the hood.  If the F700 specifications are any indications of what we should expect with Verizon’s Samsung U940 you can go ahead and add EVDO Rev 0, 2.8″ screen with 262k colors, 150MB of internal memory and did I mention the 2MP camera will have a flash (LED most likely) and auto-focus capabilities.  Now don’t get us wrong here, we all want the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 when it releases, but the Samsung U940 should definitely fill the void and bad taste left for Verizon customers after the botched release of the VX6800 after endless delays.
