t-mobile usa 3g rollout, motorola rockr e8, suncom acquisitionThis has been a very interesting week in the world of all things T-mobile USA.  Three big things have been going on at the T-mobile camp this week starting with the most anticipated 3G network rollout in US history (or should we say delayed?).  Some insider news has just hit the Internet, compliments of a tipster over at IntoMobile that leads us to believe that we will see the T-mobile USA 3G rollout sooner than Summer 2008.  Not only will the network become live before Summer 2008, but there are also talks about a 3G Shadow being manufactured by HTC to add to the carrier’s lineup.  Let’s not forget that at MWC (Mobile World Congress 2008 Barcelona),  there was an announcement that T-mobile would be releasing a Google Android based handset before the end of 2008.

Now beyond the 3G rollout coming sooner than expected is more good news from T-mobile by way of Motorola.  The Motorola ROCKR E8 is scheduled to be released on the T-mobile USA network in 2008 for all of you music loving T-mobile happy friendly people out there.

The final piece of news for the week at T-mobile is the official acquisition of SunCom who you might remember is that “other” US carrier who sports the infamous Danger devices known as HipTops or as we at T-mobile love to call them, Sidekicks.  SunCom subscribers from Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands have now been placed under T-Mobile’s official coverage maps.  The acquisition of SunCom will also result in a total of 1.1 million subscribers added to the carrier.

Overall this is some very exciting news at T-mobile and we look forward to testing out their 3G network as soon as it goes live in Los Angeles, CA.  In the meantime we will continue chugging away at EDGE data speeds and patiently wait for the sunny future at T-mobile to keep on shinning.
