Jailbreak iPhone 1.1.4 Firmware Walkthrough
A new day, a new firmware and ultimately a new jailbreak. These are the days of the new iPhone firmware version 1.1.4 and with every release begins a frenzy within the underground community of iPhone unlockers to find ways and means to jailbreak the iPhone. If you are one of the many (millions) of iPhone users who are either tired of waiting for the SDK (Software Developer Kit) to be released and third party applications to become available for your iPhone you have one choice; jailbreak the iPhone. Now in the past there have been many ways to jailbreak the iPhone, some more difficult than others, but it seems that the simplest jailbreak methods always begin with a release for the Mac and then PC users get a follow up application. Firmware 1.1.4 is no different than the previous firmwares in this regard as a simple do it yourself solution to unlocking the iPhone (jailbreak) has been released to the Internet for mass consumption.

Step by Step 1.1.4 jailbreak (Mac Only):
- Connect your iPhone to iTunes.
- Hit the “Update” button.
- Let your iPhone do it’s thing. Go grab a soda or something, it’s going to take a while.
- Download iNdependence 1.4 beta 5 here.
- Put iNdependence in your “Applications” folder.
- Start up iNdependence.
- Go to the “Jailbreak” tab and hit the “Perform Jailbreak” button.
If you want to unlock it, go to the “Activation / SIM” tab and hit the “SIM Unlock” button. - To activate your iPhone, goto the “Activation / SIM” tab and hit the “Acivate” button.
- Done: Congratulations you now have a jailbroken iPhone firmware 1.1.4
