    Rumor: 3G iPhone Mid-2008

You can take this information with a grain of salt because there is absolutely no certainty in the world of cellphone releases.  Apple could be moving into position to launch the 3G iPhone by mid-2008 according to CNN Money.  The rumor comes from new details that German chipmaker Infineon Technologies AG (IFX) likely will be supplying the new systems solution to Apple Inc.’s(AAPL) next-generation iPhone.  With this information UBS analysts told clients in a note published Thursday that Apple would be reducing production of their EDGE chipset and making way to incorporate 3G technology through IFX chipsets.  Although the information should only be treated as a rumor at this point, it does seem logical that a summer release of the iPhone version 2.0 would be a nice way to boost some sales (and Apple stock). We hope that the rumors are true and we can experience some 3G love on AT&T here in the states as well as worldwide.
