The Sony Ericsson Xperia is easily the most anticipated handset for us here at Cellfanatic, but today we have heard rumors that the release date will be pushed back to as late as October 2009. The rumors stem from news received by Unwired View.com which has been a reliable source in device launches, but we really hope this news ends as a rumor. This would be a major upset in the mobile community for a handset of this caliber to not make it to market in 2008 since we all know how days feel like weeks and months feel like years when it comes to device launches. We are going to have to hold our breath for this one and pray that Sony does not pull a PS3 style launch on this beautiful handset.
In other Sony Ericsson news, a tipster over at se.blogvasion.com submitted a mysterious picture of a soon to be released Sony Ericsson device which resembles the Sony Ericsson Xperia and makes us very envious. Is this the Sony Ericsson P5i or is this the Sony Ericsson Xperia and maybe the rumors on the delayed launch will become a thing of the past very quickly? We’d like to hear what the readers think.
