Microsoft Makes Windows Mobile 6.1 and Internet Explorer Mobile 6 Official

The wait is over if you are the type that loves an official announcement thanks to CTIA 2008 in Las Vegas. Microsoft has delivered the long promised upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 as well as an updated Internet Explorer Mobile. Windows Mobile 6.1 will be the next generation in mobile Operating Systems with nine time-saving features, easier phone navigation and management, and increased security safeguards.

To compete with Skyfire, Opera Mobile 9.5 and a series of other next generation web browsers for Windows Mobile, Microsoft has also announced the upgrade to Internet Explorer Mobile. Internet Explorer Mobile 6 will be the answer (hopefully) to bringing full screen web pages and multimedia on the web to smartphones and pocket pcs running Windows Mobile 6.1. Internet Explorer Mobile 6 will support H.264, Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight in an effort by Microsoft to end low quality web browsing experience in current versions of Windows Mobile.
