CTIA Las Vegas has brought many surprises, but Velocity Mobile might be our favorite yet. Velocity Mobile is a collaboration between one of the world’s largest notebook computer manufacturers and a team of veteran wireless designers and engineers. The goal is very simple, “bring no-compromise experiences and value to consumers”. To start things off for Velocity Mobile, two devices will be launched; Velocity 103 and Velocity 111. Although the naming structure is anything but unique, the features speak for themselves.

The Velocity 103 will be available in Q2 2008 and the Velocity 111 will be available in Q3 2008. Both devices will be sold in unlocked configurations which means no carrier subsidizing, but if the company mission statement is any indication we expect some aggressive pricing at launch.
