HTC Touch Dual US Launch Q2 2008 Best Buy

That’s right, the HTC Touch Dual (think Sprint Touch + slide-out 20-key QWERTY keyboard) is coming stateside in the second quarter of 2008.  Now normally that really would not knock our socks off, but the fact that US retailer Best Buy will be the first to get their hands on the HTC Touch Dual is plenty to capture our attention.  The HTC Touch Dual will be running the latest Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional edition and sport US compatible 3G love thanks to WCDMA 850/1900Mhz support.  The support for 850/1900Mhz WCDMA will be designed to work perfectly for AT&T’s network so you can add the HTC Touch Dual to the long list of AT&T compatible devices.  It is surprising that HTC did not announce a partnership and exclusive launch on AT&T for the HTC Touch Dual, but I guess AT&T has enough touch screen devices with the iPhone and LG Vu.  Enough with the small talk, let’s move onto the specifications:

  • Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) and HSDPA (850/1900Mhz) connectivity
  • HSDPA 3.6Mbps
  • 400Mhz Qualcomm processor
  • 128MB Program Memory (RAM), 256 MB Storage (ROM)
  • 2 megapixel camera (no flash as usual)
  • microSD slot
  • 2.6 inch touchscreen QVGA resolution (320×240)
  • TouchFLO
  • Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
  • Slide-out 20-key QWERTY keyboard
  • Live HTC Home Screen (quick access to weather, quick launcher, one-touch ringtone settings)

The HTC Touch Dual will be sold UNLOCKED at Best Buy, Best Buy.com and HTC.com to satisfy all of your TouchFLO needs later this year (Q2 to be exact).
