Carriers Manufacturers OS Palm Sprint cdma

Goodnight Sprint Treo 755p, Long Live Centro

article Nick Marshall

Last May the Sprint Treo 755p was hot news as Sprint was the exclusive U.S. carrier bringing the latest Palm OS Treo to customers across the country.  Verizon later followed, but the glory of the Sprint Treo 755p was lost somewhere between Verizon’s launch and the next exclusive Sprint launch of the Palm Centro.  Today the Sprint Treo 755p is no longer listed on the company’s website due to its misplacement in the consumer market where it sits somewhere business and consumer users.  With the Palm Centro taking the majority of sales away from its big brother, business users are making the shift to Windows Mobile devices like the Sprint Motorola Q9c.  Honestly it was an inevitable position for a phone running a dying OS and a camera that hasn’t been updated since the Treo 650 nearly 2 years ago.  With the recent $57 million in fourth quarter losses, the move to drop the Sprint Treo 755p could not have come soon enough
