Motorola Z8m hits Korea at 7.2Mbps

by Nick Marshall

Motorola might be struggling with their handset development, but the data capabilities of their devices are hitting record speeds in Korea. The Motorola Z8m slider has just been announced sporting 7.2Mbps HSDPA support to break all down-link records in a flash. Taking a page from HTC’s Tilt, the Z8 brings a tilting mechanism to the mix when you slide open the phone (apparently this makes it easier to talk on).

Motorola Z8m Specifications:

  • 2.2-inch QVGA screen
  • 2 mega-pixel camera
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • GPS
  • 3G HSDPA 7.2Mbps connectivity

Now for the important tidbits, the Motorola Z8m is currently available on SK Telecom in Korea for a hefty $500 price tag. If you reminisce on the days of Tom Cruise in Top Gun and have a need for speed, the Motorola Z8m has you covered.
