AT&T had their chance, but it looks like Rogers Canada has taken the prize as the first North American carrier to offer the N95 8GB. Nokia’s flagship device bringing 8GB of internal storage rivals that of the iPhone, but brings a 5 mega-pixel camera and front-facing camera, GPS, TV-out capabilities that have just about every manufacturer scouring for an answer. Our friends to the north (Canada) will see the N95 8GB hit store shelves in only a few days; May 6th to be exact. The price tag is rather high considering it is a carrier subsidized handset on a three year activation, but at $399 it is still a bargain over the $799 retail price. In order to qualify for the $399 price, activation on Rogers Vision Unlimited On-Device Mobile Browsing Plan must be added as well, but we expect complaints to be at a minimum considering this is the first North American carrier to offer the device and unlike the current iPhone, the cost is being subsidized. If you are an At&t customer, your time will be coming soon as well, but we have no details on the pricing situation over on At&t’s network.
