Sorry Fido subscribers, much like At&t here in the States, Rogers Canada has become the HSDPA carrier of choice for RIM’s upcoming mega device. Rogers has moved quick on this one and has already put up a dedicated page to allow users to subscribe to notifications on any BlackBerry Bold updates, but mainly the release date.

The downside here is that Rogers is not giving any hints on their launch date other than it will be available in “summer 2008″. Although the US is a bigger market for BlackBerry devices and At&t has been given the green light here, a quota was setup between RIM and At&t which forces them to sell a certain amount of BlackBerry Bold units per month otherwise the exclusivity is over.

We have not heard about any sales quotas that Rogers Canada must reach in order to remain the exclusive BlackBerry Bold 9000 Series carrier up north, but we will not be surprised if details emerge when we hear about a launch date and price options for contract and non-contract users.
