We know Sprint users wanted the release date for their beloved Samsung Instinct and today you got it: June 20th 2008 the Samsung Instinct will go on sale across all major Sprint sales channels. The release will be just in time to compete directly with the next generation iPhone 2.0 and quite possibly might steal away some potential iPhone 2.0 buyers. With 100 million dollars invested in advertising, Sprint is betting their bankroll on the success of the Samsung Instinct to steer the company out of the red and back into the black on the Income Statement. There’s only so much manipulation that can be done on the Balance Sheet and investors are tired of seeing the stock price settling down in the 6 dollar region so the time is set to see some Shareholder loving.

If you haven’t had a chance to review the Samsung Instinct details it might be time to take a refresher course with some of our previous posts on the subject. If you are all caught up with the past Instinct Specs, Exchange Support and Visual Voicemail, go ahead and checkout the latest Samsung Instinct vs iPhone commercials flooding Youtube. Personally the commercials are clever, but the differences are based on a product that will be updated to include an identical feature set right around launch date. I really feel that the focus on the Samsung Instinct campaign should be geared more towards the value of Sprint’s plans that utilize the features rather than the features themselves with our tight economy and high gas prices every penny counts.

Sprint overcharged my small (US) company for over $50,000.00. We caught them doing it and now they refuse to refund the over-payments. You can read the full story at http://www.sprint-really-sucks.com
Sounds like someone should have been watching the bill every month like your suppose to. I went over my minutes on my plan by $200 and Sprint called me saying they noticed a spike in my minutes used. They then took off the charges that were .50 a minutes and gave me an extra 200 bonus minutes to guarantee I wouldn’t go over again. I have had Sprint for 5 years now and am not about to change. I’ve never had a single problem with them….ever.
i LOVEEEEEEEEEE sprint! i get service EVERYWHERE! even at the beach. my friend has the iphone and hardly gets service at school and NONE at the beach that we go to practically everyday. other friends have at&t and get service only in little corners of our school where as i get service in the basement and everywhere else . ive never had a problem with sprint and am extremely excited to get the instinct.
ALL I know is that I am waiting for the Sprint Instinct to be released June 20th…..YES!
I like sprint for their SERVICE but their CUSTOMER SERVICE stinks like hell.
They need to UPGRADE their CS.
I am loyal for over 3 yrs now and eagerly awaiting the Instinct. Hopefully its not a hyped up false advertisement…
I LOVE SPRINT AS WELL, EVERYTIME I HAVE A PROBLEM THEY FIX IT ASAP! AND GIVE ME BONUS STUFF ITS GREAT!! CAN’T WAIT FOR THE INSTINCT!
I have been with Sprint for over 8 yrs, and I must agree with just about all of you. The service is great, but the customer service could use alot of help. I only wish they would do more for their loyal customers. Hopefully I get a chance to pick-up the Instinct. I wouldn’t buy anything other than a Samsung phone. They’ve always worked great for me.
I have been with Sprint for nearly 8 years and have had several phones. All but 1 was a Samsung. My 2 year $150 discount is 2 weeks after launch. I don’t know if I will wait and have to back order it or go in on day of launch and just get it.
The only problem I have now is sometimes texting someone the system is unresponsive. The only problem I have with CS is the long wait on the phone. I had a family plan with 2 other phones on it and had A LOT of chat services and “joke of the day” subscriptions. My bill nearly tripled. I called Sprint and told them what was up and they refunded everything!! The bill me for activation for each phone, I call them and either I get it all refunded or get 50% off.
I can’t wait until the release!!
I have been with Sprint for 8 years and I am extremely satisfied with the signal I get. I do not like calling customer service, but when I have had a problem they have always made it right.
Whats up with everyone having been with sprint for 8 years?
I have used Verizon, At&t and Sprint. I dropped calls all the time with Verizon and At&t (so much for more bars in more places), but with Sprint I have fantastic reception and I in 4 years of service with them I have rarely dropped a call. I have two phones…I use an iphone for a work phone because my company wanted everyone to have email and full access to the internet on the road. It’s a good phone but I drop a ton of calls and the At&t network is so slow for internet. As soon as Instinct is released I am upgrading my Katana II to an Instinct and giving my iphone back to the company. I’ll be using just one phone again ( The Instinct) on the best (Sprint) network. I love Sprint…they have the best price on an unlimited plan right now, the fastest network and the best reception I have found.
I have been a CSR for Nextel for almost 4 years now and a CDMA customer. I work for a vendor call center and I wanted to say that Sprint has really been pushing training, first call resolution, and trying to stop transfers. For the longest time, whenever I had to call in about my account, I would cringe at the thought of calling cdma customer service. But, in the past year, it has really gotten a lot better. Before this, I would have literally had to instruct the agent what steps to do something like port my daughter’s line in from Virgin Mobile. Give us CSR agents a little bit more time, we are trying very hard. And believe me, most of us really do care about our customers and their issues. I, as well, am eagerly awaiting the Instinct.
i work for sprint and yea great serrvice not so good customer care, but the instinct is going to be badass
Question for sprint employees or whoever know the correct answer, if your on an employee plan, with unlimited data already do we still need to convert over to the “everything price plan” for the instinct? If so, no way!!!! Love sprint the death been there 6 years but I can’t change my plan and don’t really see the need, already have unlimited data.
To the first poster (AllenHarkleroad)…ummm if they overcharged you “$50,000″ shouldn’t you have taken them to court in the first place? Just kind of a no-brainer if you had a leg to stand on.
On another point….the Instinct is a fricking great phone! Love the haptic feedback!
