HTC Diamond Launches in India without 3g support

article Nick Marshall

Sorry folks, the HTC Diamond will not have HSDPA or HSUPA connectivity in India.  Undoubtedly we are still envious that the device is available and the lack of 3g support is the only strand of sanity keeping our jealous hearts from going absolutely mad.  While 3g support is not a necessity as we have seen from the success of the iPhone, the news is still a solid sign for those in the market for a VGA resolution cell phone with a top notch display and set of features.  The other good news here is that the price point makes it a very competitive device for residents of India.  The HTC Touch can be picked up today for 27,500 Rupees ($642 USD), so if you have the extra coin lying around it is definitely the device of choice for the time being.  If the lack of a physical keyboard is the deal breaker, you shouldn’t have to worry too long as the HTC Raphael should fill that void with the same style and grace as the HTC Diamond in the coming months.
