It seems as though At&t is reading our site and noticed the iPhone 3g rumors regarding the HSPA network upgrades that would make it possible for video conferencing. Â With the completion of the upgrade, download speeds over At&t’s 3g network will range from 700kbps to 1.7Mbps, up from 600kbps to 1.4Mbps. Â The big news with the HSPA network upgrade is the HSUPA (upload speeds) which will range between 500kbps and 1.2Mbps. Â The upload speeds prior to the HSPA completion ranged between 500kbps to 800kbps so the network upgrade is big news for anyone looking to transfer files from their mobile device or laptop connect card. Â As with any announcement there is a catch and that is evident in the network coverage maps for At&t’s 3g network. Â The 3g network covers 275 markets and they are expecting to launch another 75 markets by the end of the year, but months feel like years when you are living in EDGE-ville. Â For those of you not hitting 3g speeds on At&t’s network we feel your pain, but I think T-mobile subscribers will be the most understanding.
