Sidekick LX adds Video Recording, Tony Hawk to thank?

article Nick Marshall

We all know that in July we will see the first limited edition Sidekick LX hit T-mobile stores across the US, but what really has us interested is in the OS.  According to inside sources and the screen capture below, the Sidekick LX limited edition will bring video recording and sharing capabilities to the Sidekick lineup in historic fashion.  Not only will we see the first limited edition LX, but at the same time we will finally be able to record and send video off our trusty hiptop device.  With the recent acquisition of Danger by Microsoft, the future for Sidekicks has been of constant concern, but news that we will be getting the video recording upgrade without waiting for the Sidekick Gekko/Sidekick 5 is excellent news.  Stay tuned as the Tony Hawk Sidekick LX LE lands on T-mobile this July and we finally add video recording.  Since the video recording feature is clearly software based, all Sidekick LX’s will be updated OTA (over the air) in July to also enable the video recording functionality.
