After the initial speculation it seems the rumors have found their way to materialize into a phone: the Verizon Wireless LG VX9700, Dare. Apparently back in March, the LG VX9700 rumors flooding the Internet were a lot more than rumors and today a picture was leaked on the Internet showing the VX9700 in action to silence the pessimists. It looks like Verizon Wireless is not giving up on its hopes of delivering their own iPhone anytime soon as the VX9700 will join the carrier’s lineup later this year in full touchscreen glory as the ‘Dare’. The ‘Dare’ will be the alternative to the ‘Glyde’ for users looking for a pure touchscreen experience and not willing to jump ship to Sprint for the ‘Instinct’ or At&t for the iPhone.

While confirmed details are limited, this is the information that we have collected from various sources:
- the VX9700 ‘Dare’ will be released by July 2008 (Q3 2008)
- the camera is 3.2 megapixels and may be using a Schneider Kreuzach lens.
- microUSB port on the left side and microSDHC slot on the right side
- 3 text entry options: t9 predictive, multi tap or on-screen QWERTY keyboard
