Alltel Palm Treo 755p 1.03 Firmware Update

article Nick Marshall

With the plethora of smartphones being announced this month for Summer, it is nice to see that our legacy products are still receiving much needed support and firmware updates.  Today Alltel Wireless released a firmware update for the trusty and reliable Palm Treo 755p.  The firmware update 1.03 is a bit of a mystery and Palm is limiting the details on the update by saying ‘it resolves a reset issue under specific rare conditions’.

As usual with most Palm firmware updates you will need your data cable and about 45 minutes for the update to complete.  It is also suggested that you perform a HotSync prior to updating the firmware since all information on your device will be lost with the upgrade.  ROM updater executables for users with and without miniSD cards are available for Windows users.  Macusers must run the launcher from an external expansion card.

It looks like anyone having random resets on their Alltel Palm Treo 755p will be in for a treat with the 1.03 firmware update, but we are more curious about improved features and performance.  If anyone happens to be using the Alltel Treo 755p and performs the 1.03 firmware update go ahead and drop the juicy details in the Submit Tips button up top on the navigation bar, we appreciate it.
