The name might remind you of the upcoming Motorola ZN5, but you will not find a 5 megapixel camera on the ZN200. Instead Motorola has packed a 2.0 megapixel camera in this dual band GSM (850 / 1900 MHz) slider. While we expected the ZN lineup to offer similar specs to the ZN5, the ZN200 is a low end slider destined for US distribution now that is has been approved by the FCC.
Beyond the 2.0 megapixel camera, the ZN200 offer 8x digital zoom and video recording capabilities. Along with Windows Media Player 11 for MP3 playback, the ZN200 packs a FM Radio and a 2.5mm headphone jack instead of the traditional 3.5 mm jack we prefer. Bluetooth 2.0 and a mini USB connector are also standard, but what really excites us about the ZN200 announcement is the possibility of additional ZN series devices.

At this point we can assume the notation following ZN will refer to the megapixels of the camera so we would not be surprised to see a ZN320. While it is highly unlikely that Motorola will offer a 8 megapixel camera, we would not be against a possible ZN8 device before year’s end. At this point no details on a release date or pricing have been announced, but we expect an official announcement from Motorola later this month.
