While iPhone users will need to wait until July 11th when the App Store launches and iPhone 3G is released, BlackBerry users can join in the ‘Loopt’ fun today.  While CEO Sam Altman described Loopt for the iPhone as the company’s best ever, he is not going to overlook the fact that many consumers prefer the BlackBerry as their smartphone of choice.  With the upcoming BlackBerry Bold launching on At&t’s network and the need for a physical keyboard for many users, Loopt has not overlooked the importance of the BlackBerry platform.

Loopt has released their software for the BlackBerry and it is available to download today.  As with the iPhone, Loopt’s software is free of charge and it is capable of working on a variety of networks: Sprint, Alltel, T-mobile, and At&t.  If you are not using a BlackBerry or the iPhone, Loopt is available for phones from Motorola, Samsung, Sanyo, LG and even Boost Mobile devices.  Hit the link below to download Loopt for your BlackBerry.
