The race to launch the first 3G HSDPA enabled BlackBerry is on between Rogers Canada and At&t here in the states. Â With At&t still sticking by their word on a July/August launch this year, Rogers Canada has taken the ‘Bold’ step in a June launch. Â According to BGR, the D-day for the BlackBerry 9000 series for our friends to the north is June 25th, just in time to edge out the iPhone 3G launch July 11th. Â While we don’t consider the BlackBerry Bold to be a direct competitor to the iPhone 3G, the release of the Bold on Canada’s most reliable network could impact potential sales if the pricing is competitive. Â However if the Bold launch is anything like previous BlackBerry models, the 3 year contract price should still end up being more costly than the iPhone 3G.
