Sprint has the Instinct, At&t has the iPhone and soon enough Verizon Wireless will have the LG Dare. The LG Dare, also known as the LG VX9700, was recently spotted on Verizon’s InfoManger system. The ‘Dare’ will launch in just a matter of days, June 26th to be exact, but the initial launch will be limited to online sales. The in-store launch date will follow on July 3rd and thanks to the recent Verizon Rebate form, we have the all important pricing information. The LG Dare will be $199 on new 2 year activations after a $50 Mail in Rebate, undoubtedly to compete with the iPhone and the Instinct pricing.

While the world is so focused on the iPhone and the Instinct, few people realize that the LG Dare offers the highest quality camera and video recording in the group. With 3.2 megapixels, VGA video recording (640 x 480 pixels), autofocus, LED flash, face detection and image editing capabilities, the Dare delivers. The 3 inch WQVGA touch-sensitive display offers iPhone quality visuals with DVD quality video playback off your memory card. The Dare also comes equipped with a 3.5mm headset jack, full HTML browser, multitasking capability, Bluetooth 2.0, an accelerometer for screen rotation, EVDO Rev A, and microSDHC support (up to 8GB).
If the feature list was not enough to win you over, maybe the size will. At 4.10″ H x 2.20″ W x 0.50″ D and only 3.76 ounces, the LG Dare is impressive. If Verizon Wireless is your carrier of choice and you don’t have the heart to jump ship to Sprint or At&t, get your web browser fired up this Thursday June 26th and place an order for the LG Dare.
