Sprint Treo 800w Release Date July 13th

The Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Sprint Treo 800w looks to be launching much sooner than expected.  With the latest inventory reports showing a launch date of July 13, 2008, Sprint users will have another reason to celebrate.  With this weeks launch of the Samsung Instinct and the announcement that Xohm, Sprint’s WiMAX network, would be launching in September, things are looking good for ‘yellow and black’.  Originally the rumors on the Treo 800w launch date had the device landing in late July, but according to the the latest leak we will see the 800w start popping up as soon as July 9th just days before Apple’s iPhone launch.

Sprint Treo 800w release date july 13

The initial July 9th launch of the Sprint Treo 800w will be geared towards corporate users and will be followed by a full scale launch on July 13th.  Besides the release date, the pricing information was also contained in the Inventory report which shows the 2 year contract price at $249.99 after rebates and a no contract price of $599.99.  With a no contract price of almost $600, we would not blame Sprint users from experiencing some moments of caution before plunging into the next iteration of Windows Mobile Treo.

As far as the specs go, the Treo 800w is still packing Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, GPS, WiFi and EVDO Rev A support.  With plenty of program memory and the latest in connectivity, the price will not stop our wandering eyes from giving this bad boy a test run.  With less than a month until launch date, Sprint seems to be doing everything in their power to turn the stock price upside down and we applaud the good work.
