HTC Mogul official Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM, unofficially released

article Nick Marshall

With the Sprint Motorola Q9c getting the Windows Mobile 6.1 treatment, the HTC Mogul is next up and thanks to our friends at xda-developers the wait is over.  AT CTIA this year, Sprint announced that they would be upgrading most of their devices to Windows Mobile 6.1 by the end of 2008, but they made no specifics to the order or dates.  With the latest ROM, RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.56.651.0_RS_3.42.02_SPCS2.0 4_PPST_0619_Ship.exe, the official build has been leaked and while we usually would not recommend installing unofficial ROMs, this time we are giving the green light.

You can download the latest ROM over at xda-developers by hitting the link below.  The next device in Sprint’s lineup that will be getting WM 6.1 treatment should be the HTC Touch, but you never know when Sprint and HTC partner up.  We might end up seeing the HTC Touch Diamond released before the existing Touch sees WM 6.1 sunshine, complete with zoomed web browsing and threaded SMS.
