We mentioned that the LG Dare would be launching on Verizon Wireless this Thursday and sure enough it’s out.  The LG Dare is a full touchscreen phone set to compete with Sprint’s Instinct and At&t’s iPhone, but offers a few features above and beyond the competitors.  For starters the LG Dare brings a 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus as well as VGA video recording.  With 640 x 480 video recording and the highest megapixel count in the group, the LG Dare has raised the bar for the competition.  While an iPhone will always be an iPhone, the LG Dare poses the biggest threat to the Samsung Instinct or as we like to call it, ‘Sprint’s $100 Million child’.  With a 3 inch touchscreen complete with tacticle feedback similar to the Instinct, the Dare also offers the same high speed data capabilities compliments of an EVDO Rev A radio.

The LG Dare is currently available from verizonwireless.com for $199 after a $50 Mail in Rebate.  While it is not available to purchase in store, the Dare is definitely going to be the savior for the millions of Verizon loyals bound to a 2 year service agreement and not willing to change carriers for the full touchscreen experience.  While we look at getting ourselves a review unit to size up to the Samsung Instinct have a peak at the full specifications.  By the way, the LG Dare is covered under equipment protection in case you are coming from a carrier that does not offer insurance for high end phones (cough, At&t, cough).
