BlackBerry Outage in US during BIS 2.4 to 2.5 Upgrade

Don’t make any plans for an email conversation if you live in the US and rely on BlackBerry Internet Service.  During the planned outage which is scheduled to take 8 hours, 100% of BIS users will be unable to send or receive messages, use their Internet Browser (without WiFi), or perform basic activities which would require a data connection.  In the meantime you will simply have to settle for phone calls, which luckily will not be a problem since California does not put the Hands-free Law into effect until Tuesday, July 1st.  Full details for the outage can be found below:

Impact: BlackBerry Internet Service subscribers may be unable to send or receive messages, use the BlackBerry Internet Service web site, or perform activities such as creating new accounts, accessing their Internet mailbox, integrating third-party email accounts, or viewing email attachments during the maintenance.

Wireless service providers and device resellers may be unable to use BlackBerry administration web sites or perform activities such as creating subscriber accounts or provisioning services for subscribers during the maintenance. [0214]
