Six months after the first mockup photos of the unreleased and unconfirmed Samsung i900 hit the Internet and we finally have some solid proof. Thanks to our friends at PConline.com.cn we have several shots of the Samsung i900 in action and now the confirmed specs. To start things off for the i900 we have a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus on the back and a gorgeous iPhone-matching 3.5″ touchscreen at 240 x 400 pixels. If the camera and the touchscreen dimensions don’t win you over, the quadband GSM with 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps support should close the deal along with a 1500mAh battery.
To smooth over the data conscious users out there, Samsung has also included Wifi b/g support as an alternative means of accessing the Internet and Email. The i900 also comes with a microSD slot capable of reading SDHC cards up to 32GB and a FM Radio. For the global travelers out there you be pleased to find a full GPS receiver under the hood of the i900 along with 16GB of internal storage so forgetting your microSD card is nothing to worry about. If multitasking is your thing, 256MB of RAM should provide plenty of program memory to satisfy even the most finicky user.
The last pieces of information we gathered is that the Samsung i900 will be running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and it will have TV-out capability to make photo and video sharing a breeze. In our minds this is the first serious contender to Apple’s iPhone on the market thanks to Nokia-quality specs and a sleek Samsung design. Let’s just hope the touchscreen performance is anywhere near as fluid as Apple’s multi-touch patent.

With the HTC Touch Diamond shipment to Europe and Asia comes the first leaked ROM surfacing on the Internet. The 1.34.831.1 ROM for the HTC Touch Diamond shipping to Hong Kong has made way over to XDA-Developers.com and the ROM is already running in full force on the HTC Kaiser (TyTN II / At&t Tilt). For those of us not willing to shell out another $800 on the latest tech gadget, you can experience the new TouchFLO 3D without spending a penny if you are willing to spend a few minutes loading the 1.34.831.1 WWE ROM. The good news here is that other HTC devices are being reported to work with the HTC Touch Diamond ROM and it looks to be very stable. While the new ROM will not get you the VGA 640 x 480 resolution our hearts persistently envy, it will get you Windows Mobile 6.1 and the latest optimizations from HTC without dent to your bank account. If you are willing to give a try you can pickup the Diamond ROM off the link below and be sure to give us a heads up on how you dig the new setup.
