Korean handset maker, LG, is apparently prepping to release the second 8.0 megapixel camera phone in the not too distant future (October 2008 to be exact). Of course Sony Ericsson was the first to break the 8 megapixel barrier, but the unconfirmed details for the LG KC910 8.0 megapixel camera phone are more than enough to catch your attention. For starters the KC910 will come with the Xenon flash made popular by Nokia along with the image stabilization and facial recognition found on the LG Dare. The power of the LG KC910 does not stop with the camera, videos can be recorded at up to 720 x 480 resolution at 30 frames per second which will be a first for a camera phone (currently VGA 640 x 480 is the best resolution available to consumers).

Following in the recent success of ‘other’ touchscreen phones, the KC910 will feature a WVGA touchscreen with a custom UI (user interface) designed specifically for the device. The dimensions and weight are still unknown at this point, but speculation hints at a thickness of less than 14mm. While there are no spy pics to speak of at the moment, it shouldn’t take long before the buzz to take off and the sources to start delivering the usual uncensored treatment. Stay tuned for more details as LG readies the KC910 for an October release date.
