Just days after xda-developers came through for owners of the HTC Touch Diamond with an unofficial method of enabling the GSM 850MHz band, HTC has released an official fix. Not only did HTC unlock the GSM 850MHz band, but they also improved TouchFLO 3D tab switching and movement speed which was single biggest complaint we had with the first version of the device.
Several other improvements have been made in this ROM (1.93.831.1 WWE) including the no signal issue which was plaguing many users from keeping 3G connectivity. Below is the full list of improvements that can be found in the updated HTC Touch Diamond ROM available for download HERE.
HTC ROM 1.93.831.1 WWE Update (HTC Touch Diamond Update):
- Enable GSM 850 band
- Fixed no signal, no 3G connectivity issue
- Fixed no action while touching navigator control in camera mode
- Fixed some files in internal storage which could not be listed
- Fixed SMS sound alert notification delay issue
- Improved audio quality after audio booster is enabled
- Improved TouchFLO 3D tab switching and movement speed
- Improved homepage loading speed
- turned off 5-second auto screen off function when screen is turned back on by pressing power key during a voice call. Screen off timeout will follow system power setting now.
- Added random access bar to the right hand edge of the screen for selection of weather in countries and cities
