Motorola ‘Atila’ brings Alexander-style minus the keyboard

Labeled as a ‘Touch Tablet’, the upcoming Motorola ‘Atila’ is a Windows Mobile Professional touchscreen device.  The ‘Atila’ will take a page from HTC’s book by complimenting the already leaked full QWERTY keyboard Motorola ‘Alexander’ in the same way as the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro.  The big news here is that the Motorola ‘Atila’ will be Motorola’s first tri-band UMTS/HSDPA (GSM 3G) device.

Beyond the tri-band radio, the ‘Atila’ features full GPS, 1130 mAh battery, Qualcomm 7201a chipset and measures 80mm x 109mm x 13.75mm.  The ‘Atila’ has a solid feature set, but unfortunately we are told that the resolution will be limited to QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) which cannot compare to RIM’s half VGA resolution, the VGA resolution of the HTC Touch series and the Apple iPhone.  Based on the pictures it looks like the ‘Atila’ will feature a hardware control mechanism in the bottom-center area which suggest that you do not need to always use the touchscreen.

No details have been given for a release date or pricing at this time, but as usual we will keep you in the loop.  It is also rumored that the ‘Atila’ will include WiFi b/g, but we can only confirm the 7.2 Mbps HSDPA connectivity for now.
