Having the iPhone 3G is nice, but owning one of the world’s first 8 megapixel camera phones is elite. One of the world’s first 8 megapixel camera phones will be coming to Carphone Warehouse in the UK in an exclusive agreement. What makes the Samsung i8510 Innov8 so impressive is that not only does it hold one of the most advanced mobile imaging tools as part of its feature-set, but it’s also a very advanced smartphone, running on Symbian v9.3 with S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2.
In the UK you can expect the Samsung i8510 Innov8 to lose the ‘Innov8′ name when it is launched by Carphone Warehouse by early September 2008. While we have not been giving any pricing information, the current market predictions puts the price point somewhere in the neighborhood of EUR 700. With 16GB of internal memory, built-in GPS with A-GPS, FM Radio with RDS and 3G connectivity (HSDPA), the i8510 is well worth the extra coin.

If you still need convincing, remember that the Samsung i8510’s 8 megapixel camera is capable of recording VGA video at 120fps (Nokia’s N96 tops out at 30fps) and it has a LED flash. While a Xenon flash would have been ideal for night shots, we are sure you can live with the 2.8 inch QVGA TFT LCD screen with built-in accelerometer and optical mouse. You can start looking for news on the Carphone Warehouse website later this month for a price point for the Samsung i8510 or as usual we will keep you in the loop.
