We have to admit that all of the early UI shots of Google’s upcoming Android OS have not done much to impress us. With the iPhone UI serving as the new standard in touchscreen devices, Google’s Linux-based OS lacked the styling and flare of a next generation product. Today we can put these feelings aside after seeing the latest version of Android in action, Android v.9.

The screenshots gives us a solid idea of how the final product will release (hopefully in October) when T-mobile USA releases the Google Phone in Q4 2008. With the recent Google Phone (HTC Dream) showing up on the FCC website, Google is nearing a final production release of their OS. At this point, based upon the details of the HTC Dream / Google Phone and the latest screenshots of the UI, we are very excited about the potential of this lethal combination of software and hardware synergy.
