Chinese website, Alipay.com is selling one of the best knockoffs we’ve seen in a while for the Nokia N79. At only 690 yuan ($100 USD/each), these high-quality imitation devices are pretty impressive. Unfortunately it looks like the camera didn’t make the cut as the specs show that maximum output is 640 x 480 (VGA resolution), but we are hoping they are simply referring to video recording.
To understand the attention to detail, they have even copied the menu and S60 interface for these N79 knock offs. With only supports for GPRS 900/1800 MHz, the N79 imitators are all about show and lack the guts of the real thing. In any event, it is always amusing to see what the knock off community is capable of delivering with current phone prices being at their current levels.
