iPhone 3G proves it’s not the slowest 3G device, ask the BlackBerry Bold

When customers and then carriers complain about the hardware on the iPhone 3G, you’d expect the problems to drastically effect the device.  Apparently even with the faulty hardware, a combination of excellent software (Safari Mobile) and solid resource management has kept the iPhone 3G away from the bottom of the barrel.  To put the quality of the 3G browsing speeds to the test, MobileComputer has put together a side-by-side comparison of the two device in action.

To many angry iPhone 3G owners surprise the iPhone is the winner by leaps and bounds.  It looks like RIM’s first venture into the world of HSDPA 3G combined with an inferior web browser just might end up making Apple’s current predicament not so serious.  One thing to keep in mind is that the comparison is focused on the Web Browser and this does not imply that the iPhone’s 3G performance is better overall.
