Rumor: BlackBerry Thunder hitting Telus Canada Q4 2008

Take this with a grain of salt but BlackBerrySync is reporting that two close Telus sources have confirmed the BlackBerry Thunder 9530 will be launching before year’s end.  More specifically the two sources said that we will see a Telus BlackBerry 9530 “before or around Christmas”.  While we still are going to file this one under the rumor mill, it looks like the exclusive contracts for the BlackBerry Thunder/Storm are completely void and RIM is making the smart move.

Why limit a touchscreen device to two carriers (Vodafone/Verizon Wireless) when you are fighting in a touchscreen war against the iPhone 3G which has been released in over 50 countries?  At this point we have been told that Rogers, Telus, Verizon and Vodafone will definitely see the BlackBerry Thunder/Storm.  Personally we just want to see the BlackBerry Bold 9000 launch on At&t in the meantime.
