It seems as though T-mobile can’t catch a break here in California as the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) announced that they are studying claims that suggest T-mobile has been ignoring local building regulations in Northern California. If the commission fidns that T-mobile had broken local planning laws then it can impose multi-million dollars fines on the company and require towers be removed or resited.
Honestly guys, we just want some 3G love in California sometime this year, is it worth picking on the little guy? After the announcement a T-mobile spokesman, Rod De La Rosa, told the San Francisco Chronicle that the policy of the company is “to work with all relevant and appropriate siting guidelines and regulations.”

For a quick look back at last year’s investigations with the CPUC, last May Cingular Wireless (now At&t) offered refunds worth $18.5 million last year. These refunds were given out after California Residents were wrongfully charged ETF (early termination fees) of their phone contracts where network coverage was inadequate. For our sake and T-mobile’s sake we are not in a position to slowdown network coverage or a 3G rollout in California.
