Sprint’s LG LX600 clears the FCC, dumb phone still intact

by Nick Marshall

It’s time to end speculation, the Sprint LG LX600 ‘dumb phone’ has just made its rounds through the FCC approval process.  As we had heard from rumors circulating the Internet, this tiny clamshell opens up to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard.  The most obvious competitor to the LG LX600 will be the recently released Verizon Blitz.

Much like the Blitz, the LX600 is made for messaging, with external music player keys for the built-in music player, and packs a less than average camera.  The current rumors suggest that the LG LX 600 will launch on October 16th on Sprint’s network, but we do not have official confirmation nor do we have pricing details at this time.  The bottom line is that the LX600 is a perfect device in smartphone evolution for someone coming from a flip phone and not ready to take the plunge into Windows Mobile.  As usual, more details to follow.
