Fresh off the Best Buy website is a ‘Coming Soon’ page for the HTC Touch Diamond (unlocked) and the buzz is stirring. While none of the US Carriers currently offer the Touch Diamond, it looks like Best Buy Mobile is really planning on attacking the unlocked GSM phone market seriously. Despite our initial criticisms of Best Buy Mobile, it might actually end up being a cell fanatic’s wonderland if they could just work out some better and longer return policies.
One note worth mentioning is that the specifications currently listed on Best Buy’s website do not seem to include US 3G. We hope that this is simply a formality and that the proper specs will be updated, otherwise we are looking at an EDGE-only unlocked HTC Touch Diamond for T-mobile and At&t.
Update: “Operates on 850/900/1800/1900MHz networks. Ensures high-speed, always-on connectivity.” The Touch Diamond is currently listed at $699.99 and the release date is from 9/29/2008 -10/4/2008 so we are only a few weeks from availability.
