Verizon Wireless Announces Month-to-Month Plans

article Nick Marshall

If you are getting tired of the power struggle between carriers to offer exclusive phones and not willing to pay an Early Termination Fee (ETF) to switch, Verizon Wireless has heard your voice.  Starting today, customers looking to bring over their own CDMA device or willing to pay full retail for a Verizon phone can sign up for a month-to-month agreement.  The agreement can be terminated at any time and there will be no ETF, giving the ultimate in wireless freedom.  If you are currently a Verizon Wireless customer and looking to switch over to the month-to-month option you will need to fulfill the terms of your current contract first (i.e. wait for it to expire).

Verizon Wireless’ new Month-to-Month agreement gives customers the freedom to purchase new devices at full-retail price, or use their own CDMA devices without the commitment of a one- or two-year contract. Additionally customers can terminate their agreement at the end of any month without paying an Early Termination Fee.

The new month-to-month plans are available either online or at any Verizon Wireless retail location.  No details on whether a credit check would be required, but we’d lean towards it being one of the requirements.  If there is a Verizon Wireless phone you have been itching to try, but didn’t want to sign up for service and have to cancel within your 30 day window it looks like now is the time to give it a go.
