Samsung has just announced the Haptic 2 touchscreen handset and although it looks very similar to the Samsung Omnia i900, it is the update for the original Haptic. For starters the Haptic 2 comes in either a 4GB or 16GB edition (SCH-W550 / SCH-W5500 / SCH – W555 ) with DMB television support, Bluetooth 2.0 and an improved 3.2 inch touch-screen. With the Samsung Omnia i900 serving as the guinea pig for Samsung’s high-end touchscreen endeavours, the Haptic 2 has improved on the TouchWiz UI to deliver a more intuitive experience for users.

If customization is your forte, the Haptic 2 now features 50 widgets instead of the original 15 included on the Omnia i900. The final improvement is that the Haptic 2 has added user defined vibration tones. No information regarding a release date, but there are some rumors on the pricing. The 4GB and 16GB models will retail for $600 and $690 respectively, but with a $90 price difference for 4 times the storage we’d opt for the 16GB model (SCH-W555).
