Apple iPhone 3G Coming to Best Buy Mobile Canada

by Nick Marshall

Last week Best Buy Mobile launched stores across Canada in an attempt to deliver all major carriers in a single retail location.  Here in the U.S. Best Buy Mobile has already begun their quest of the iPhone 3G and the device is quickly becoming one of Best Buy’s hottest sellers.  According to Best Buy Mobile Canada they will also join in with the iPhone 3G festivities as they plan to sell the 8GB and 16GB iPhone 3Gs with 3 year contracts from Rogers or Fido.  It is not clear whether all Best Buy Mobile Canada locations will have both models since the company only stated that it was “depending on availability and supply”.

Phil Johnston, Director, Wireless Solutions, Best Buy Canada Ltd said “The iPhone is a revolutionary product that has changed the way people think about their mobile phone and we are pleased to be able to help Canadians get their hands on one of the hottest new products introduced in Canada this year. We want Canadians to know that they can count on Best Buy Mobile for the latest and greatest in mobile technology.”

The 8GB iPhone 3G will sell for $199 on a 3 year Rogers or Fido contract while the 16GB will be $299.  This Fall is shaping up to be quite interesting for our friends north of the border as the HTC Touch Pro and Dual have both been announced for Canada earlier in the week.
