In the world of high-end camera phones, the LG KC780 has just taken the throne from the Samsung M8800 Pixon as the thinnest device to date to offer an 8 megapixel camera. The device initially gained buzz after a leaked photo hit the Internet last week showing a blurry image of what was thought to be an 8 megapixel slider phone from LG. Today, the device officially became the LG KC780 and it has been confirmed that the phone is thinner than the 13.8 mm of the Samsung M8800 Pixon (see photos below).

The KC780 will offer full quadband GSM support and some touchscreen functionality similar to the LG Secret (KF750) for multimedia applications. Video recording is expected to be VGA @ 30fps, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see 120fps for the QVGA recording mode. Below you can see the LG KC780 next to the LG Renoir, the next full touchscreen flagship device set to replace the Viewty.
No information on a release date or pricing are available at this time, but we expect an official announcement from LG in the coming weeks. Until then rest well knowing the world of 8 megapixel camera phones is pushing the bar for some excellent convergence devices.
